Affinityfilms, Inc. is pleased to present About Face: The Story of Gwendellin Bradshaw on its ten year anniversary.

On a chilly Alaskan summer night in 1980 at a campground in Eagle River, 10 month old Gwendellin Bradshaw was placed on top of a fire by her distraught mother suffering from postpartum psychosis. Given a 50-50 chance of surviving, Gwen barely survived. The film begins twenty-four years later with Gwen left to figure out how to live with her physical and emotional scars. She believes that finding mother is central to her healing, and sets out on a 4 year emotional path to find her, ultimately discovering more family secrets and her own beauty and purpose in life.

Gwen’s story of resilience and the inner demons of mental health struggles brought on by trauma and genetics is both inspiring and heartbreaking but above all, a compassionate perspective on the lifelong impact of childhood trauma.

This documentary has been featured at film festivals globally including Iceland, Japan, HotDocs in Canada, Thessalonki Film Festival in Greece, and broadcast in many countries. Please join us in revisiting this important film. Discussion with director, Gwen, and others to follow the film presentation.

General admission $10
