Arguing Alaska Debate Series presents: Only the most qualified should be permitted to immigrate to the US
Questions of what it means to be an American are never more poignant than when we contemplate who should be allowed to become one. Can we balance the founding ideals of our country with a pragmatic concern for attracting the best and brightest from around the world? Should the reunification of families take precedence over recruiting those whom we believe will contribute the most to our nation? Join UAA’s Seawolf Debate Program and the Alaska Dispatch News to explore these issues in the next debate in our Arguing Alaska series. The motion for debate will be “Only the most qualified should be permitted to immigrate to the US.”
The Arguing Alaska debate series considers both sides of some of the most pressing and controversial issues of the day.
Co-sponsored by UAA’s Seawolf Debate Program and the Alaska Dispatch News, the series brings together debaters from UAA’s internationally successful program with Alaskan experts to engage in reasoned consideration of public policy controversies.
