PARLOR IN THE ROUND is back at the Bear Tooth in December!

Dan Bern is a prolific songwriter and electrifying live performer. While Dan Bern may be best-known for his masterpieces “Jerusalem,” “Marilyn,” and “Tiger Woods,” he has released 25 albums and EPs, and played thousands of shows across North America and Europe.

Bern has written original songs for the films Walk Hard — The Dewey Cox Story and Get Him to the Greek, as well as for Jake Kasdan’s first film, Zero Effect. He has toured with Marshall Crenshaw, Ani DiFranco, and John C. Reilly’s country-infused band.

Recently home from touring with NPR Tiny Desk Concert winner Quinn Christopherson, Medium Build, aka Nick Carpenter, will return to the parlor for another of his spellbinding performances. Spanning the emotional spectrum, Medium Build leaves the audience feeling…well, really feeling after every show. His improv is legendary, and we can’t wait to have him back.

Denali is a singer, songwriter, and musician born and raised in Anchorage, Ak. With inspirations like Sia, Janelle Monet, Matt Corby, and Panic! At The Disco she's at home in many genres. When it comes to her acoustic sound, she likes to keep things simple but inventive. Her soulful, intimate vocals beckon the listener through earnest stories of the heart.

The Mountain State has its Stage and the Tiny Desk, its Concerts. This concert season Alaskans will gather at Parlor In The Round. Borrowing from the guitar pull tradition of porches and campfires, songwriters from all walks of Alaskan life (and some beyond) will trade songs and stories as they are inspired by each other. After the intermission, tradition is cast aside as the musicians dive into collaborations, jocular inventions and premeditated musings all based on written submissions from the audience.

Kevin Worrell hosts this dinner theater, drawing out the strength and vulnerability of each artist while holding the crowd closely throughout the performance. The Bear Tooth transforms its movie house into dinner theater and a hush falls over the crowd. Expect to lean in and laugh out loud at the Parlor.
