Can you make a nutritionally balanced meal out of $1.97? 89,000 Alaskans are on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as food stamps) to get enough food each month, with the average benefit being $1.97 per meal. It is the most effective anti-hunger program in the country, but also the most controversial.

Join us for a Hunger Action Month discourse on how the program actually works, who is on it, and ask questions about the program. We encourage diverse political and moral ideologies to attend, and want this to be a true discourse on food assistance in Alaska.

Tickets available at the Bear Tooth box-office only. Free of charge.
