The film covers the life of Tower, who became one of America’s first celebrity chefs, and features Bourdain, Mario Batali, Martha Stewart and Ruth Reichl. Tower gained fame as a pioneer in the California cuisine movement at Alice Waters’ Chez Panisse in Berkeley, during the 1970s and founded San Francisco’s Stars restaurant in the mid 1980s. The original bad-boy chef, Tower was known for his Studio 54 lifestyle, over-the-top brash personality, and his public feud with Alice Waters.
