The film juxtaposes two seemingly separate worlds. One follows the life of mammoth tusk hunters on a remote arctic island with that of the cutting-edge, high tech world of bioengineering. These two worlds merge when an intact, with flowing blood, a mammoth carcass is discovered in the thawing permafrost. The film brings up so many complex issues which our contemporary world faces. Featuring leading Harvard geneticist George Church and controversial cloning pioneer Woo Suk Hwang, the film attracts not only audience interested in science, but people who care about what’s going on in this unknown territory of Genetic science and all of it’s ethical and moral ramifications.
The film won World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award for Cinematography at 2018 Sundance Film Festival and many other awards from the Festivals worldwide.
